Gilbert Hernández Orozco

My name is Gilbert Hernández Orozco from Las Piedras, Puerto Rico. I studied in the Public Schools of my hometown, standing out in the groups of academic excellence, as well as belonging and presiding different student organizations. In 1993 I entered the University of Puerto Rico-Humacao Campus. There I obtained my Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work with credits in Education. After my motivation for Justice and the Rights of the people I obtained a Law Degree. In 2003 I became an Executive Assistant in the Housing Department and in 2004 I assumed the position of Assistant Administrator of Resident Services of the Public Housing Administration. In 2009 I administered the Municipality of San Lorenzo until 2020. Subsequently, in the year 2021 I served as Secretary of Administration of the Senate of Puerto Rico. After my interest in continuing to gain knowledge I decided to study a career that transforms people’s lives. However, in 2020 I became a Real Estate Broker. My interest is that people can have affordable housing and thus support them with special programs for access to housing for their first purchase given my professional experience in that Department.
